Ben Still —

Threshold Guide & Insight Herbalist

I work as a Threshold Guide, supporting people through times of vocational calling and soul work, spiritual crisis, illness, and significant life transitions

Alongside this, I offer Plant Connection & Ritual Healing for those seeking nature-based support in life and work, grounded in relationship.

My primary framework and modality is Insight Herbalism: a relational, embodied way of working with plants as living allies. Through deep listening and attentive presence, this work supports connection with what is arising within us as we attune to the more-than-human world.

  • My journey into healing work began in 2019, during a formative period that included a nine‑month solo journey through India: a time of challenge, emergence, and deep personal questioning.

During this time, I was immersed in practices that emphasised embodiment, presence, and lived experience:

    • Eight weeks studying Iyengar Yoga in South India, grounding awareness in the physical body

    • Permaculture training at Shunya Farm in Bir, learning about reciprocal relationship with land

    • Introductory energy healing studies at the Maa Asho Institute near Dharamshala

After returning to the UK, I co‑founded Loop:Frome CIC, a community composting initiative focused on soil health, sustainable systems, and local ecological care.

This work reflects a core belief that healing happens at many scales: personal, communal, and ecological. and that small, grounded actions matter.

Alongside this, I serve as an Independent Town Councillor in Frome, advocating for localism, participation, and systems that support connection and wellbeing.

Above all, i am a proud father to my 3 year old son.

  • My practice is shaped by sustained study and apprenticeship:

    • Two years of training in Shamanic Healing with Jay & Kestrel Oakwood at the Bridget Healing Centre in Glastonbury

    • Four years of study with the School of Intuitive Herbalism in Stroud, under Nathaniel Hughes

    • Training in Reiki and subtle body awareness

    • Ancestral Family Constellations with Jill Purce

    • Ongoing learning in ancestral and relational work, including teachings from Daniel Foor

    • 4-day Wilderness fast held by Poet and Guide Tom Hirons

    • Member of the Bards, Ovates and Druids, studying land‑based spiritual practice

These influences continue to evolve through lived practice rather than remaining fixed frameworks.
